As we ascend, far from this realm Seek intangible, forgo material In a sea of trees, a thousand spirits dwell There the scene was set, for the self to expel Caledonian An ancient portal It came, like a wave over this, fear that dwelt inside To relinquish, control of this, the external All it took, to dissolve and give Liberty, was the smallest dose Picked from, slopes of the northern moors Now I am rooted to the earth I can feel everything Even the singing of the trees And the roots of the infinite mind But while the cattle approach from above on the hillside, I give in to experience and float with the everflowing tide And the nature of the way, cannot be described Only experienced, by the uncarved mind Feeling dissolution here, Dissolve the fabric of being Ascend above and beyond and between, the light of the orange sun Great is the warmth of infinity, recognise that all is one I lay underneath the branch of a millions realms And absorb vulnerability, let beauty overwhelm And as the great sage must return to the plane of the human We remember our divine nature in this human form

Oblivion, Stands before these eyes, Waiting for hope, waiting to die. The blind wanderer searches for his truth, Seeking within to find, ascend from his ignorant youth. Smoke rises so high, above the shadowy sky, Beyond into realms, where they must never dwell. The passive mind will never find, the secrets of hermetic time, The secrets of, your past life. Free from fear of a menial life, The crushing weight of meaningless strife. Now embrace the open road, A cold abyss so far from home. He sees the truth so plain to see, As his soul is set free. Devour your former self, preconceived ideas of the world. Many came and many fell, but only the solitary mage tamed the demons of hell. So sacrifice your mortal flesh, tear away the feeble limbs, and the heart from your bleeding chest. From the ash they awake, the serpents o’ so grim. To rise and rise to the astral planes, as Saturn’s dawn must begin. Walking down hermetic path, I see the light of distant pasts, Attain the goal of the sage, transforming gold from the forge of rage. Rise, rise again. From the mountains of the madness, to the valley of the dead. Now, go in peace, to the void, And reabsorb the seventh stream of life. Passed down the centuries, aeons of wisdom stand for me. In the grasp of the ancient ones, silent reflection unholy sun. I see. What the understood, in their solemn virtues so the fire wood. Abolish the rules set by man, now the sacred is free to tear it down. All exists, to liberate.

This sense of self, comes from illusion. Of the fabric, of the material. And we live, helpless. In this state of blindedness. From our, true being of emptiness. So allow suffering, to bloom inside. As the seasons change, so does does my mind. Attempting to grasp at nothing, identity assigned. And as the image grows, the soul decays and dies. So release the bonds found within your broken eyes. I stand tall amongst this crow, Purified by the ego’s death. Shedding skin, like the snake. The wounds reveal just what was fake. This false pretence, you lived so long. Just to dance to another’s song. An utter disgrace is humanity, Searching for truth in their vanity. But for so long, has it ever been there, Not in the clothes the wear, or in their fucking hair.

Alabaster 06:11
A poisonous Shade awakens in my mind, Tainting the grief of my past memories. Now I stand before, the dark that lies inside. Everyone and everything. So open the sacrum of the shadow. Deep inside the goblin king rumbles from the depths, Seeking to destroy the world and raise an army of dead. Alabaster rises. Makes the land so divided. Conquers life with his dark rule. In the woods shall be undertook, the heathen ceremony. Burn the seed of deliverance, under the ashen tree. With dark flames all shall, unto the goblin ghoul. I follow the darks gods call, To feed them, Them hordes of souls. Reveal the gods of the blackened pit, Hunger. Searching with theirs hearts so dark, Hatred. Only from the dark can you see the light, Of them. Long ago, the dark prince was alone, In a cavernous realm, Seeking to enslave man’s world. Only a vessel remained to open the door, And unleash hell with a mighty wrath to let the rain pour, So through the belly of the damned the soul became the gate, Now extinguish the hunger within, Salvation is too late.

about

Just as the hermetic alchemists of old learned to create gold from the base elements, we too may learn to transform our suffering into wisdom.

The Hermetic is the third release from one-man black metal project, Where The Crows Gather. This album explores the minds attachment to the material world, the inevitable suffering that arises from doing so, and the liberation the comes from releasing these bonds and embracing the shadow archetypes that comprise our full being.
